Basketball Alpha Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 7, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Basketball Alpha websites, applications, and related services that link to this policy. It describes how Overround LLC, a Kansas limited liability company doing business as Basketball Alpha ('Basketball Alpha,' 'we,' 'us,' or 'our'), as the data controller, collects, uses, stores, discloses, protects, retains, and deletes personal information.

Basketball Alpha is a customer-facing NBA analytics and information platform for injuries, confirmed lineups, rotations, player roles, teams, games, historical comparisons, scenarios, and lines research. It is not a sportsbook, does not accept wagers, does not hold or transmit wagering funds, does not award prizes, and does not place bets.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Basketball Alpha.

  • Account information, such as email address, password credentials if you create a password-based account, email verification status, account role, access plan, subscription or promotional access status, and account timestamps.
  • Google sign-in information, when you choose to use Google sign-in. Basketball Alpha requests only your Google account identity and email address through the production Google sign-in flow. We also store whether Google has verified the email address and the provider identifier needed to link your Google account to your Basketball Alpha account.
  • User-entered product information, such as bets or parlays you choose to record, bankroll/book-account labels and balances you choose to enter, alert settings, research workflow settings, and related notes or metadata.
  • Support and communications information, such as your email address and the contents of messages you send to us.
  • Subscription information, such as Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan and payment status, and paid-through dates. Stripe collects full card details in its hosted checkout; Basketball Alpha does not receive or store full card numbers.
  • Technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser or device information, log data, authentication events, error information, and security or abuse-prevention records.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide, maintain, secure, and improve Basketball Alpha.
  • To create accounts, authenticate users, verify email ownership, maintain sessions, link Google identities, and control access to plan-gated features.
  • To provide customer-facing NBA injury, lineup, rotation, player-role, team, game, scenario, and lines research, plus account and subscription support. Separate administrator-only operational tools are not part of the paid customer product.
  • To investigate errors, prevent abuse, protect accounts, enforce terms, comply with law, and communicate service-related information.

4. Google User Data

When you choose Sign in with Google, Basketball Alpha requests access only to your Google account identity and email address. We use this information to authenticate you, verify email ownership, create or link your Basketball Alpha account, and protect account security.

Basketball Alpha does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or other Google account content. Basketball Alpha does not sell Google user data and does not use Google user data for advertising, retargeting, credit-worthiness, lending, data broker resale, information resale, training AI models, or unrelated purposes.

Basketball Alpha does not transfer or disclose Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide or secure the service, comply with law, prevent abuse, or complete a business transfer as described in this policy.

5. How We Disclose Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information in the limited situations below.

  • Service providers that help operate Basketball Alpha, such as hosting, database, security, email delivery, analytics, logging, customer support, and payment or access-management providers. These providers may use information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, government request, or to protect rights, security, users, or the public.
  • Business transfer recipients if Basketball Alpha is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

6. Cookies, Sessions, and Similar Technologies

Basketball Alpha uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, preferences, and product operation. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling some cookies may prevent account features from working.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These safeguards may include HTTPS in production, access controls, hashed password credentials, limited administrative access, logging, and operational monitoring.

No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, or misuse will never occur.

8. Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide Basketball Alpha, maintain account records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Retention periods may vary by information type and legal requirement.

You may request deletion of your account or personal information by contacting [email protected]. We may need to retain limited information where required or permitted by law, for security, fraud prevention, audit, dispute resolution, or legitimate business records.

9. Children and Age Restrictions

Basketball Alpha is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe a person under 21 has provided personal information to Basketball Alpha, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Third-Party Services and Data Sources

Basketball Alpha may reference or link to third-party services, sportsbooks, data providers, or websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Basketball Alpha is not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of Basketball Alpha after an updated policy is posted means the updated policy applies going forward.
